| Ceremonial Scrolls | ||

During my career in the RAF I was asked to produce a number of scrolls to commemorate significant military anniversaries. The first of these was the 75th Anniversary of the RAF for which I produced the scroll shown on this page. The scroll was signed by HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, HM The Queen Mother, HRH Princess Margaret. The piece is produced on calf skin leather and is about 50cm x 30cm in size. The artwork is rendered in gouache and gold leaf with the writing in gouache and chinese inks. The piece is now on display in the foyer of RAF Marham. I was subsequently asked to produce similar scrolls for the anniversaries of the Royal Australian Air Force and the Royal South African Air Force. Another piece I was delighted to be asked to do was the scroll presented to the United States Air Force by the RAF on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its formation.
