Coats of Arms are superbly opulent pieces of art when painted in gold leaf and gouache paints on parchment or vellum.

A coat of arms is described in 3 parts:  The crest refers to the emblem/design above the helmet, the blazon of arms refers to the design on the shield and the motto which can be placed above or below the blazon.  Additionally the mantling is a stylized coat which flows from the helmet around the blazon.

Coats of arms are good presentation items for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other occasions.
