Themed Wedding Seating Plans
Themed wedding seating plans are very personal and a lot of fun to create. From Winnie the Pooh to Star Trek, James Bond to cartoon characters if its your theme I can create something stylish which will be a talking point at your wedding.
A few examples and details about the works are featured below.
Some of the photos are from the dawn of digital photography so are a little below ideal resolution but hopefully should give you the idea.
Las Vegas Card Suits
The bride and groom are friends of mine who met, and were married, in Las Vegas, so a card suit theme seemed appropriate especially as there were only 4 tables. The piece is about 70 x 45cm and is rendered on parchment style paper. The design features a top motif designed around the national flags and flowers of the USA and Scotland, a card suit themed border and a bottom motif designed around the Celtic Symbol of Eternity and the King and Queen of Hearts
Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh has been, to date, the most popular theme for my seating plans. One of the original illustrations in the books is of the characters having a picnic at a table in the forest. This makes a lovely centre piece for the plans.
This plan was one of my personal favourites to make. Star trek starships are painted with a space background on black mountboard using gouache paints.
With over 20 James Bond movies to choose from and a plethora of characters and scenes, a suave and sophisticated hero and glamorous bond girls who couldn't resist a James Bond theme for their wedding breakfast seating plan.
Another of my favourites as there is so much going on in this piece. Tables named after children's TV characters, a vibrant heading banner and a montage of characters celebrating at the bottom. 70cm x 50cm on white vegetable parchment completed using gouache, gold leaf and black Chinese ink.
Wind in the Willows
This beautiful Wind in the Willows themed seating plan has tables named after characters and scenes from the popular children's book. The painting are based on the original book illustrations. The piece is 80cm x 65cm and is completed on pale blue parchment card.
Something a little different, this seating plan is written onto a circular piece of black cartridge card with white gouache. The black card was then set into yellow cartridge card cut into a sunflower petal shape. This was mounted onto a green garden stick and set into a vase with some plastic sunflowers to be a freestanding seating plan at the entrance to the reception venue.
Hopefully these ideas will whet your own imaginations. I haven't yet done Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Superheroes or Lord of the Rings Seating Plans all of which would be fabulous themes for me to get my teeth into!
